Catherine SetchellCatherine is responsible for communicating the messages emerging from Participate’s research findings in order to influence global policy debates. She works in collaboration with the Beyond 2015 campaign and the global network of Participatory Research Group (PRG) members to ensure Participate’s messages reach a range of stakeholders involved in the creation of the post-2015 development framework. Ground Level Panels offer reality check to UN High Level Panel’s (HLP) proposals for development

In June and July, Participate facilitated Ground Level Panels in Egypt, Brazil, Uganda and India, to mirror the United Nations High Level Panel (HLP) for a post-Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) agenda. Panelists drew on their own life experiences to provide a ‘ground level’ reality check to the HLP recommendations; as well as develop their own shared vision for development. Each of the Ground Level Panels produced a communiqué with recommendations for what is needed in global development policy to end poverty.
